This document describes memetic shifts emerging from the Hub of the Wheel of Co-Creation as sensed by a small

group of co-creators who sought to give expression to what they discovered by tapping into their own particular

connection to the evolutionary impulse. These shifts are offered in deep humility. They are not meant to be a

definitive, complete, authoritative, or “final” analysis of cultural evolution. We stake no special claim to the Truth.

The participants in this process did not represent a demographically diverse cross-section of people -- nor did it

include scholars, professional philosophers or social scientists. Refer to Appendix I for more information on the

methodology we used.

The shifts are described as a vector from a Predominant Worldview to an Emerging Worldview. We chose these

terms carefully to avoid unwanted semantic baggage. They are not intended to convey a dualistic movement from

bad to good or wrong to right. Predominant memes are the cultural assumptions reflected in the institutions and

systems of those wielding the pre-dominance of global power. Since multiple stages of consciousness co-exist,

these memes cannot be pigeon-holed into a single stage of development. For example, some of the predominant

memes reflect a Conformist/Amber/Religious stage of consciousness and others reflect an

Achievement/Orange/Mechanistic stage. Emerging memes are those identified by the participants in this process

as those becoming increasingly visible on the growing edge of cultural change.

At its heart, the shift may be characterized by a return to the recognition of universal Oneness. This Oneness gives

rise to unfathomably complex, interconnected and rich forms of expression -- forms so dazzling that it is easy to

become mesmerized by the forms themselves and lose sight of the fact that these forms are all manifestations of

One. When people discovered that patterns in the structure and behavior of these differentiated forms could be

revealed using rigorous experimental methodologies and described using mathematics, a 400+ year love affair with

the world of form commenced.

A dualistic worldview has held sway in which Mind and Matter are seen as fundamentally separate. This freed

science to claim dominion over questions of matter, leaving religion dominion over questions of mind and spirit.

Science embraced an objective, evidence-based approach to knowledge consisting solely of facts and externally

verifiable hypotheses. It viewed the universe as mechanistic, purposeless and largely devoid of both life and

consciousness except as very late stage epiphenomenon of evolution on perhaps only one planetary body. To deal

with the unfathomable complexity, scientific methodology decomposes whole systems into smaller and smaller

parts, within which linear models of causality could be applied. Knowledge has been seen as being transmitted as

objective concepts taught by experts to students. Western religion in the dominant culture sees the Universe as

providing the backdrop for Man’s quest for Heaven – a state of existence separate from the physical world. God is

separate from and above Man and Man is separate from and above Nature. Nature is viewed as having a virtually

unlimited capacity to provide raw materials for man’s creative endeavors to improve on Nature’s designs and an

unlimited capacity to absorb the waste and toxic by-products of these endeavors. Though there is great

disagreement and conflict as to whose path and standard of truth are correct, there is, nevertheless a tendency to

adhere to the belief in one right path and a single standard of Truth (whether it be scripture or scientific proof).

Power tends to be organized in domination hierarchies. Individualism and competition are celebrated.

In the emerging worldview, the distinction between mind and matter is seen as a false dichotomy, as both are

manifestations of Oneness. The Universe is multi-dimensional, conscious, and alive. Its purpose is to joyfully and

creatively express Love. We are not separate from each other, nature or the Divine. We live in sacred reciprocity

with all of creation, celebrating the diversity of forms without losing sight of the unity underlying all form. The

unfathomable, ineffable depth of Oneness responds to conscious-seeking with synchronicity and unconditional

love. Humans cooperating, collaborating and co-creating with each other and with all beings in nature provide a

larger context within which to express our unique individuality. Wisdom is recognized as arising from both inner

and outer experience. Instead of a single right path and single standard of truth, the path of wisdom is

multidimensional, transcending and including multiple perspectives and sources of knowing. Indigenous peoples

largely avoided Western civilization’s detour into the illusion of separateness and, thus, indigenous wisdom is

gaining visibility as a rich source of guidance. Instead of exploiting and subordinating nature for human ends, we

are recognizing our Oneness with nature. All beings and forms of Nature are seen as deep sources of learning,

regeneration, nourishment, companionship, as well as inspiration for the meaning of beauty and harmony.
