We will be speaking with David Abram about Oneness and the Environment. David is known for speaking about "Being human in a more-than-human world." Within Humanity’s Team we believe when we heal our personal ecology we assist in healing our collective ecology. In Oneness we create wholeness and wholeness creates healing.
David, a cultural ecologist, geophilosopher, and educator — is the author of The Spell of the Sensuous: Perception and Language in a More-than-Human World (Vintage, 1997), and Becoming Animal: An Earthly Cosmology (Vintage, 2011). Hailed as “daring” and “truly original” by Science, as "revolutionary" by the Los Angeles Times, David’s work has helped catalyze the emergence of several new disciplines, including the rapidly growing field of ecopsychology. His work has been translated into many languages, and his essays on the cultural causes and consequences of environmental disarray are published in numerous magazines, scholarly journals, and anthologies.
David is co-founder of the Alliance for Wild Ethics (AWE), and a recipient of the international Lannan Literary Award, as well as fellowships from the Watson and Rockefeller Foundations. He currently holds the 2014 International Arne Naess Chair in Global Justice and Ecology at the University of Oslo, in Norway. When not abroad, David lives with his family in the foothills of the southern Rocky Mountains in North America.
