Communications and media lie at the center of Cate Montana’s life. TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, films, books, blogs—she’s done it all.
Her career took off when she broke the glass ceiling in sports television as the first woman editor/engineer hired by ABC sports for Monday night football. Over the years she worked for ESPN, edited speeches for Ronald Reagan, covered the Republican and Democratic National Conventions for CNN and election night coverage for the BBC, working for every major global broadcasting network before she left television in 1988 to move into print journalism.
She has published hundreds of articles in newspapers and magazines and worked as the Northwest bureau chief of the national paper Indian Country Today. She blogs on women’s issues for the Huffington Post, has written two screenplays and was on the marketing team for the international hit indie film What the Bleep Do We Know !?
She is the author of Unearthing Venus: My Search For the Woman Within (Watkins), co-author of The Heart of the Matter: A Simple Guide to Discovering Gifts in Strange Wrapping Paper (Hay House) with Dr. Darren Wiseman, and co-author of GhettoPhysics: Redefining the Game with What the Bleep Do We Know!? creator Will Arntz.
She has a master's degree in humanistic psychology and is rapidly becoming known on the public speaking circuit for her unique views on spirituality, religion, gender archetypes and women’s issues. She lives in the Pacific Northwest.
