Which Sector do you most identify with?
What led you to believe in Oneness?...
I was born in a UN Refugee camp in 1947 to parents who were brought to Germany as slave farm laborers. War carried its ugly wounds into our new life in Canada and destroyed my father. I carried these wounds until I began my own search for Meaning in the 60s with Transcendental Meditation and now over 20 years of Budhhism. My heroes are Gandhi, Mandela, Dalai Lama and Martin Luther King. I prayed for courage all my life and now, I lay claim to my courage and to my responsibility to act with Love to bring people together in a New Consciousness. Now is my time.
If life is an Earth School (Gary Zukav) and being in 5th grade doesn't make you any better than being in 1st grade, you are just in 5th grade, what grade are you in?...
I stopped grading myself a long time ago. I am on my life journey and it is my perceptions that create this journey. My perceptions are not reliable therefore I strive only to be present to this moment. Each of us bring individual levels of being present to the process. None of the levels matter to me. At this stage, I focus on this wonderful journey I am on. I am creating my own masterpiece filled with brilliant colour and flashes of darkness.
Briefly describe your journey to this point...
I have always been a Seeker... Catholic, TM, Christianity, and finally, for I am sure that this is my spiritual home base, I am happy with the profound wisdom of Buddhism. When I retired 4 years ago, I dedicated my life to claiming who I am and serving humanity in whatever means I have while I have them. My personal mantra is 'If not now, then when? If not me, then who?" I manage a Meetup site, called Spirit Quest which has almost 600 members. I teach meditation and explore all Paths to Oneness. I manage 3 FB sites including Cloud ONE for Spiritual Activism(by permission only). I am co-chair of SHeN (Spiritual Heritage Education Network) which has just done their 7th annual 2 day conference. The theme was Moving into Inclusiveness and we had 10 speakers and workshops over the day. We are not working on the 8th years conference. I see that I am here in this time and place to step forward and act on behalf of all who suffer. It is time for people to see that we are Inter-Beings who are every Inter-Connected in every way.
What movements are you involved in that brought you here?...
Barbara Marx Hubbard, Humanity's Team, Shift Network, Thrive
Describe your Formal Education...
Honours Degree in Cultural Geography, University of Toronto, 1989. 30 years of sales and marketing experience in a managerial capacity
Describe your Personality...
People express shock when I state my age. I thank so many years of meditation for making me appear and feel so youthful. I practice gratitude with everything and everyone and even though I have a lot of suffering around me in my family, I am constantly tapping into Joy! I love people and open myself to see who they are and they in turn, connect with me. I serve humanity however I can. I teach English to Syrian refugees, I teach meditation, I support the Native People of North America, I cannot believe how much energy and joy has come into my life when I dedicated my life to living on purpose!
Describe your Essence...
To embody Loving-Kindness in every way as a Spiritual Activist. To truly 'see' others as myself. To share the fire that burns within me with those who I connect with on a heart to heart level. To understand the Truth of Oneness and lead with fearlessness and faith that all is unfolding exactly as it should.
